Maintaining old fashioned values

About us

The idea behind the Winchester Auto Barn and Drivers’ Club is to create a valuable community and network of like-minded people who are interested in cars of all shapes and sizes predominantly from the 60’s to the 80’s. We want the garage to be driven more by passion and mutual interest rather than a hard commercial edge. It is very much a work in progress but the ultimate goal is to create a comfortable and laidback destination in the Winchester area whether you are getting an MOT, having your Merc serviced, wanting to buy a classic car or just want to hang around other ‘petrol-heads’.

The most important thing to us is that our customers feel welcome, enjoy their time at the garage and receive a first-class value-for-money service.

The ethos of the business, as our mission statement says, is to maintain old fashioned values in a customer and service orientated local business.

What we do

There will be an eclectic yet hopefully harmonious mix of MOT’s and servicing of more modern cars (specialising particularly in Mercedes Benz) and selling, sourcing, restoring and storing stylish, affordable classics from the 60’s to the 80’s.

We will have an interesting array of Automobilia and memorabilia for sale around the place. This will consist of posters, enamel signs, luggage etc… Please note, these will all be genuine period pieces – we don’t do repro!

We will be holding events such as Breakfast Club meetings and rallies at the weekend so you can meet fellow enthusiasts and show off your pride and joy. We have also purchased an old Citroen H Van that has been expertly converted to provide tea, butties and cake.

Winchester Auto Fest

A new charity motoring and music event for the Test Valley

Over five hundred locals, classic car fans and their families partied the night away at Winchester Auto Barn on Saturday at their inaugural Winchester Auto Fest.

Motoring enthusiasts came to enjoy the eclectic array of classic and interesting sports cars on display at the countryside garage, including a rare 1972 Lamborghini Muira SV, a 1967 275 GTB/4 Ferrari, a De Lorean, a 1966 Mustang, a 1943 Dodge Truck and a MacLaren 650S to name just a few.

There were performances throughout the evening on the stage under the stars from Rock band The Reason, Blues Band The 663 Squadron and Acoustic guitar virtuoso Jake Morley.

Guests were treated to tastings of some of Burgundy’s fine wines and artisan French cheeses. Whilst the younger visitors enjoyed the Boaz Project’s Angry Birds stall and free face painting.

Niall Holden, garage owner said “I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Winchester Auto Fest at the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for it and the turnout, tunes and atmosphere were first class. The event was launched to celebrate our first year at the garage and we are delighted to be able to donate a substantial amount raised on the night to Naomi House and Jacksplace in Sutton Scotney. We hope that Auto Fest will be back next year and become an annual event for the community and motoring enthusiasts in aid of a great cause.”
